The groundbreaking ceremony for the project of Myanmar`s China-aid National Theater (Rangoon) Refurbishment was held by BCEG on 21st of May. Hong Liang, the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar, Thura U Aung Ko, Minister of religious affairs and culture of the republic of Myanmar, U Kyi Min, Vice Minister of religious affairs and culture, and Hypo Min Thein, Rangoon Governor attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Hong Liang said that Myanmar National Theatre, the highest level theatre in Myanmar, was a Chinese government assistance project in 1985 and a symbol of friendship between China and Myanmar. China will not only maintain the National Grand Theater, but also do more for people of Burma. He also wished China can keep good relationship with Myanmar.
Thura U Aung Ko, Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar, appreciated that China provided help to Myanmar. He said China is a friendly neighbor of Myanmar. The construction of the National Theater in 1990 provided a better stage for Myanmar's cultural and artistic performance, demonstrating the profound friendship between the two countries. The refurbishment project will further promote cultural exchanges between the two countries to a high level and the development of "one belt and one road" undertaking in Burma.
Wang Yongyue, technical team leader for the project, said Burma is an important country of "one belt and one road". As the first large state-owned enterprise that enters the Myanmar aid market after the restart of assistance program, BCEG will take the enterprise culture to make the refurbishment project become an outstanding project, giving people of Burma a satisfactory result.
